The holiday season has always been my favorite time of year. There’s just something about the lights, the music, and the way people gather that feels magical. Funny enough, it was during this season that the idea for NOLA Station first began—though I didn’t realize it at the time.

The Spark of an Idea
Back in December of 2019, I was just a tenant, not the owner. I hosted a small customer appreciation event, and everyone who came couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved the space. They kept asking if they could rent it out for their own parties. That night a seed was planted in me. A year later, when the opportunity came along to purchase the property, I knew it was meant to be. With my background in engineering, design and construction, reinventing spaces comes naturally - and I could see right away that this place had the potential to become something special. What started as a simple holiday get-together eventually grew into NOLA Station - a place where friends, families, coworkers, and communities can come together to celebrate, laugh and make memories of their own.
Over the years, I’ve realized that some types of holiday celebrations are just made for a spacious, open-air setting. From lively office parties to relaxed Friendsgiving dinners, these are my favorite kinds of gatherings that truly shine in a place like NOLA Station. Here are few ideas to help inspire your next outdoor party this holiday season:
1. Company Holiday Parties
Forget the stuffy banquet hall - the string lights at NOLA Station are already glowing, and the space feels festive the moment you walk in. Add a DJ and maybe a few patio heaters if it’s a little chilly, and suddenly the office holiday party feels like a celebration everyone wants to attend.
2. Friendsgiving or Holiday Potlucks
This one is a personal favorite of mine. I love when everyone brings their favorite dish and it turns into more of a family-style meal than a formal event. At NOLA Station, there’s room to spread out, laugh, and linger over seconds (and thirds!) without feeling cramped.

What makes it even more fun at NOLA Station is the contrast – our modern industrial vibe sets the perfect backdrop for those well…not-so-cute sweaters. Add a photo spot, and you’ve got memories (and laughs) your guests will never forget.

The holidays are about giving back, and I’ve seen some truly special moments here when guests combine fun with purpose. Ask everyone to bring toys, canned goods, or donations for a local charity—you’ll be amazed at how much good can come from one celebration.
6. New Year’s Eve Celebrations
There’s nothing quite like ringing in the new year at NOLA Station. Skip the crowded clubs and overpriced dinners—bring in food, music, and your favorite people, and bring in the New Year with plenty of space to celebrate.
